Out of Natchitoches Louisiana Grand Ecore
Landing Houseboat Adventures offers tours of Army Corp of
Engineering Lock and Dam number 4. The dam is located 15 miles
north of Natchitoches Louisiana on the Red River. The tours can
take place on either the Houseboat or the tour boat. A typical
tour on the Houseboat take 6 hours. This tour usually include
all meals and snack while on board. During this trip we can make
stops for swimming or fishing. On board the houseboat has all
the comforts of home. Elderly and small children will be
comfortable with four twin beds for naps. As well as television
and music. Full kitchen allows meals to be prepared while on
board. A large gas grills make it a snap the grill burgers on
the upper deck. A tour of the Lock and Dam can be the highlight
of an over night trip on the river.
This
trip can be narrated with the history of Natchitoches as well as
the Red River. Those interested in the local Civil War history
will appreciate the view of Grand Ecore. Grand Ecore is the
steepest bluff in the state of Louisiana. A tour of troop
entrenchments can be included in any of the boat tours.
Transportation from Natchitoches to Grand Ecore can be arranged
for your convenience. The trip to the Lock and Dam can also be
arranged on the 24 foot 12 passenger tour boat. This trip is
much shorter in time due to the increase speed of the tour boat.
This trip take approximate two hours. Please be advised that we
are at the mercy of the river and possible barge traffic which
may delay cruise times.
